Burckhardt Compression has elected Ton Büchner has its new director and chairman of the board of directors. Büchner replaces Valentin Vogt, Burckhardt’s former CEO from 2000 to 2011, who did not seek reelection.

This is not Büchner’s first time on a board of directors. He served as chairman of the board of directors of Swiss Prime Site since March, as a member of the Novartis’ board of directors since 2016 and as a member of Voith’s shareholders’ committee since 2014.
Vogt served as Burckhardt’s director for 18 years, nine of which as chairman. His contributions to Burckhardt during his tenure are well documented. According to Burckhardt, Vogt was the driving force behind the management buyout from Sulzer Group in 2002 and the decision to take the company public in 2006.
