Inaugural 2018 best practices EXPO & conference announced

February 28, 2018
Improving plant profitability by optimizing compressed air systems is the focus of the just-announced inaugural 2018 Best Practices EXPO & Conference, to be held at the Chicago O’Hare Crowne Plaza Conference Center, September 17-19, 2018. Compressed Air Best Practices? Magazine Publisher Rod Smith said, “After 11 years of publishing “Best Practice” stories, we’re thrilled to create an opportunity for our subscribers to share knowledge and view technology in-person.”

The 3-day four-track conference will convene the leading experts, from the compressed air industry and manufacturing plants, to teach how to measure, reduce demand and optimize compressed air system designs. ?Editorial Board Member Doug Barndt, Manager for Demand Side Energy & Sustainability at Ball Corporation said, “Compressed air is the #1 kW user across our 35 factories.”? Sales engineers, service technicians and utility reps will hear compressed air standards and technology updates, and benefit from training sessions focusing on how to ask the right questions in a factory - in order to help them.

The EXPO floor will feature approximately 60 booths displaying the technologies needed to optimize compressed air systems. Smith said, “We’d like to thank our Sponsors and are honored and motivated by the compressed air industry’s vigorous support of this new event.”

Compressed air is often identified as one of the first projects to address when looking for low-hanging fruit to improve plant profitability. Editorial Board Member Bill Jerald, Chief Energy Engineer, CalPortland said, “We’re in 75 to 80 locations. We’ve done literally hundreds of compressed air modifications, changes, upgrades and audits.”

The event will also dedicate exhibit floor space and conference time to optimizing blower, vacuum, cooling and chiller systems.
